Papier Mache Lady Doll
This papier mache doll is all original and dates from 1840s-1850s.  The dress has the lower waistline appearing at the natural
waist in contrast to previous fashions.  The skirt is gathered at the waistline.  The hat is the classic poke bonnet.   The hairstyle
shows the bun molded at the nape of the neck as opposed to the top of the head.   The body is cloth with leather arms.  The
entire doll is 20 inches.  Maker unknown though the molding of the hairstyle is similar to that seen in Kestner doll sheets of the
time.
