The Buddhist monk represents
a Chinese monk with his blue
top and pants and his saffron
robe or pao.  He is missing his
hat.  Note the 12 marks on the
top of his head.  As part of his
entry into the monastery, the
monk has 12 burning cones
placed upon his head.
