Kling Company
C. F. Kling worked in a porcelain factory in Henneberg before starting his own factory in 1834 in Ohrdruf.  Dolls were produced
in1870, the same year the founder Christian Kling died.  The factory was run by Louis Ortlepp.  Early dolls were marked with
mold numbers while later dolls were marked with the bell (Kling means clink).  Dolls made as late as the 1930s were marked
with a K inside the bell.  Borgfeldt imported dolls from the Kling Co. to the United States.  The company closed in 1939.
